This debrief covered everything since last debrief (and a lot has hapoened since then), and it was only 5 days, so there was quite a lot to cover! But it was still so good!

The rough schedule was breakfast, teachings in the morning, lunch, free time (unless your team was in debrief), dinner, another teaching, then something else, like worship or a game. We started out our days at 8:00 and ended anywhere from 8:00 to 9:00.

We stayed at Old Vic’s Travellers Inn (in Nelspruit, South Africa). It’s a hostel with a bunch of different rooms (some dorm style, some just full of bunk beds), a zoo-style aviary cage full of colorful birds and fluffy rabbits, and a pool full of gloriously cold water, big enough for all of us!

I spent a lot of my days swimming in the pool, watching people night swim (I didn’t want to get my hair wet right before bed😆), and talking with people before we get split up between Indonesia and Malaysia (did I tell you already? I’m going to Indonesia with Jubilee and the boys, while Doves and Rivers are going to Malaysia).

For our adventure day (Tuesday), we went to Kruger National Park for the day! Kruger is larger than some countries and is one of the best safari places in the world! We were split among 4 vehicles, and I was with Abeni, Natalia, Clara, Maggie Claire, Abi, Kennedy, Esme, and Jackson. Let’s just say, even we couldn’t see animals at the moment, it was entertaining! I was able to see so many animals! Elephants, zebras, lions, vultures, warthogs, baboons, monkeys, eagles, buffalo, wildebeest, impala, a ground squirrel, and a wild dog! It was such an amazing experience (even if I did have to get up at 4:00 to go)!

A lot of our teachings were centered on preparing us for Indonesia. From understanding Muslim culture to counting the cost of our faith to the power of the Gospel, we were given so much information!

It was a productive time, so while I’m not feeling particularly rested going into Awakening (when one or more World Race Squads are in the same country at the same time), I do feel more prepared for moving forward into my last 3 months on the World Race!

Please be praying for rest during Awakening (I’ll update you all on how it went afterwards!), safe travel days when going into Asia, and health, as some members of the Squad are starting to feel under the weather.

One response to “SA/Eswatini Debrief!”

  1. The safari sounds amazing. What an amazing experience! You are seeing things that many don’t see in a lifetime. It’s hard to believe you are heading towards your final destination of this trip. We will continue to pray for you. Thank you for posting!!!!
